How to Choose Your Best Trendy Hair Color for Autumn 2018

Each one of us has the best hair color.
Yes, I know, we are in the middle of summer, but since Elle magazine just came out in their 12th July 2018 issue with the best hair colors to have, if you want to look trendy next autumn, I would like to give a few tips for you to get it right, so you can look your best at all times!

There are six different alternatives and I´m happy to see that everyone will find a color that will look like an extension of theirown colors if they want to go with their own dominant color characteristic.

When you are a celebrity and just need or want to look different or to be noticed where ever you go, and especially on camera, it is quite a different situation than for  most of us, who don´t need to make an impact every time we walk out the door.

The different trendy hair colors can be seen in ELLE magazine in more detail in the article “6 Best Fall Hair Colors for 2018” and are as follows:

1.    Shine Bright

This is a blue color applied to black hair. Additionally rose gold and light purple tones are suggested, if blue is not a color you relate to. To make the best of this look, your own coloring would be DEEP or CLEAR. Kim Kardashian and Zac Efron would benefit from wearing this color. In the case that this color is used by any of the other dominants, the color would overpower their own coloring. It is a question of whether you want people to notice your hair more than your face. It is all about choice. The rose gold and light purple tones would look best on people with LIGHT or SOFT coloring because the other dominants don´t support these colors as well.

2.    Chestnut & Cinamon

This is a beautiful deep and spicy color that looks best on people with WARM undertones to their skin. WARM doesn´t have to be the dominant color characteristic, but there needs to be a distinct warmness present for the best end result. Halle Berry and Ashton Kutcher would look magnificent in this color. This is a color that people with COOL undertones should stay away from because there is no harmony when combining it with cool skin tones. Also people with DEEP coloring look wonderful wearing Chestnut & Cinamon. If you have cool undertones, there are other great trendy colors to choose from this autumn! No worries!

3.    Honey, Honey

Now, this is a color for many people with LIGHT and SOFT as their dominant color characteristic. I remember that a long time ago, we used to call this a ”dirty blond” color. It is still working well for so many people. If your coloring is light but you like blueish tones better than yellowish ones, then you would do yourself a favor by not using too much of the yellowish strands and focus more on the other colors when dyeing your hair. Goldie Hawn  and Brad Pitt would look great in this color. If your own coloring is CLEAR, DEEP or WARM, this is a color you don´t really need if you want to make the best of your own inner glow.

4.    Strawberry Shortcake

In comparison to the Honey, Honey color, this color is a bit more intense and can be used by very many people to look great. This color emphasizes best the coloring of people with SOFT or WARM as their dominant color characteristic. Emma Stone would benefit from wearing this color. Robert Pettinson could also play with this color. For people with CLEAR or DEEP as their dominant color characteristic, do not need this look. Although this one is one of my own favorites, I cannot wear it myself. Therefore, I just admire others, who can pull it off with the Strawberry Shortcake color and look like a million dollars.

5.    Cool in Copper

This really is a color that no-one else should be using than people with WARM as their dominant color characteristic if they are looking to support their personal coloring with their own inner glow. Julianne Moore could very well get away with this color. Prince Harry would look great. I know, I know! It is such a beautiful color that we all want to wear it! But, hold on. Think hard at what you are looking for to achieve. If your own coloring does not have warmth in it, there really is no reason for you (or me) to put this color so close to our face. It will not give you the same effect, it does to the beautiful people with warmth in their appearance. These people actually have a golden glow about them, which will be put out by e.g. cool colors. We are all in the same boat. No-one looks great in all colors. Therefore, to make the best of what we have been given, we need to support our own coloring to stand out in the best possible way. There is something for everyone!

6.    Nirvana Blonde

This is a color, which is a natural color for people living in the Northern part of Europe. As I recall, it used to be very young people or elderly people, who had this color naturally. We have gotten used to it in recent years, seeing it on more and more people, and personally, I´m very happy about that, because this color is my natural color nowadays. Helen Mirren is a wonderful example of a role model for this color. Also Steve Martin. It is a color, which is best used by people with LIGHT or COOL as their dominant color characteristic. People with WARM, CLEAR or DEEP coloring don´t really need this color,  unless they want to stand out in a shocking way.
