The other day, I read in the paper that the carbon
footprint of the clothing industry is slightly bigger than the global air and
sea travel put together. I was really shocked!
Also, it seems to be common knowledge that as much as
70% of clothes end up being burned or put in dumpsters!
If all this does not shock you, I don´t know what
will. I, together with very many other people, am very worried about the state
of our beautiful planet, with all the plastic in the seas as well as all the
garbage around us, also in the form of clothes.
When I think back to the days 30 years ago, people
were very much interested in looking good, just like today. In those days,
looking better was the only reason, we wanted to find out our best colors,
images and styles for ourselves. Today, however, the world has changed due to all
the many wrong decisions, we thought were the right decisions. Now we know we
have been focusing on many wrong things and before it is too late, we must
start doing things in a completely different way and start behaving in a new
way. This new way is actually not a new
way, it is just the forgotten way, that was working very well before spending
was the top sport.
I started thinking that there is something I can actually
do about all this because having worked with colors all my life, I have seen it
for a fact that when a person knows their own best colors and sticks with them,
the end result is less clothes thrown away and more clothes to wear with
happier and more confident people.
I feel, it must be a lack of information, when people
are happily buying things they will never use, or wear once or twice and then
move on to new clothes. For some reason, people are willing to part with their
hard earned money for the thrill of owning something, even for a very short time,
because they keep hearing constantly, that this what we should do. Wouldn´t it be nice to be happy for a longer time
and have more money to spend on something else? I have always been
interested in fashion and like to wear beautiful clothes. That does not have to
change. We just need to get more organized and be more aware of what we really
need and what we don´t need.
There is a key to being aware of which pieces of
clothing we should be buying and in which colors for each person. This is
something I can help with. The system is simple. All we need to find out is
which one of the six dominant color characteristics “talks” with your very own personal
colors. When you know that, you can eliminate so many shades and intensities of
color that you don´t need at all. You can then focus only
on your own best colors and if you like, take it one step further to fine tune
it, after you are comfortable with what you know about using your dominant
colors. There is time for that later because no one can master everything overnight.
The beginning of January is the very best time to
start on a new chapter in your life. Each January is the best time, of course,
but January 2019 is the best time in the past 30 years to do this because if you are at
all curious about astrological events (and even if you are not), this January
marks the beginning of a new cycle in the world since about 30 years ago. We
are all starting out on a new path now. I truly welcome it, because last
time when the universe was at the starting line, like it will be now, I was
making decisions, which resulted in the life I have been living for the past 30 years.
It is now time for another chapter for me and it looks like it will be even
more exciting this time around.

to take steps to get your life into some sort of new order with more beauty,
happiness and gratitude. We are all in the same boat. With little steps, we can
create a life we are happy with and that includes so many things. It is easier,
when you start with yourself. Take a good look in the mirror and maybe make a
game of it by getting together with your friends to choose the dominant color
characteristic for each one of you.
