| If you are cool, stick to your cool colors! |
To be cool, or not to be cool. That is the question.
However, when we are talking about colors, COOL is one of the six dominant
color characteristics and it is an easy one to pin point, if you used to have
darker hair and now it has turned white. In such a case, using clothes and
make-up with a blue undertone enhances your own coloring, although in your
younger years, your dominant color characteristic was something else.
In the Northern part of Europe, however, there are
many children and young people, whose dominant color characteristic is also
cool. Some are very blond and in that case the dominant color characteristic
can also be LIGHT. If that is the case, then these people look wonderful in
light colors that have a blue undertone.
In addition to the people, who are light and cool, there
are also COOL people, who are not elderly or children. They are the people, who
were never completely happy about the colors they were given, when choosing
their best colors. I remember that often these people were given autumn colors,
because there are many colors in the autumn palette, that are not warm at first
glance. Since these colors are in the autumn palette, their undertone is warm,
although when worn with cool colors, they don´t seem warm or cool, so they
don´t clash that badly.
When your dominant color characteristic is COOL, it is
a good idea to choose your neutral colors from the blues or grays. That way you
will be able to combine all your other cool colors with them.
If you choose your best navy for your jackets, coats,
shoes, suits, you will be well on your way to building a wardrobe that works
for every occasion and you will never have to spend time in front of your
wardrobe wondering what on earth you should be putting on every day. You will
have complete outfits to choose from right inside your own closet. Pick a few
other colors, such as a cool pink and/or turquoise to complement the navy
neutrals.
After deciding on which COOL colors you will start to
work with to build your wardrobe, it will be very easy to pack. You won´t need
a huge suitcase to take separate outfits that need many pieces of clothing in a
different color.
If you feel that it might get boring, wearing the same
colors all the time, there is an answer to this without having to take colors
from neighboring dominant color characteristics.
A dinner dress or other outfit can be a completely
other color from the range of colors you wear daily, because you will not need
anything else to wear with it. Also, your gym outfits can be all different COOL
colors so that they match your very own beautiful coloring.
There is no need to fear that you will look like a
grandma if your wear only COOL colors, because these colors enhance your inner
glow and that is what we are really looking for, when choosing colors.
This autumn blue is a trendy color, which it hasn´t been for a very long time. Now is the time to shop for all blue pieces of
clothing, because everything is now available in blue. Jackets, tops, skirts, blue
jeans in all shades and intensities, shoes and everything.
The white boots that are very popular at the moment go
extremely well with all the blues and the look is very new, although we did see
that in the eighties a lot. It was different people, who wore those clothes, so
it will absolutely feel new and exciting for the younger generation to shop for
all those goodies this fall!

People with COOL, as their dominant color
characteristic, would look their best in a hair color that is not in any way
warm. This means that when you color your hair, you should not mix any yellowish,
warm brown or red into your beautiful cool hair color. Hair is so close to your
face that it is very important that it enhances the color of the undertone of
your skin and when doing that, makes your eyes sparkle and gives you a better
eye contact with everyone you meet!
