This week everyone can wear orange and black!

Halloween is a time to eat everything orange!

Yes, I know, I have been telling everyone that orange and black are colors that are more powerful than you are, unless your dominant color characteristic is warm or deep. This week, however, no rules apply! Actually, this week everyone, who likes to be on top of things, will most certainly wear orange and/or black to enhance their week-end in the most gruesome way!

Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year and I love to decorate the whole house and kids and dogs as ghosts and goblins. The scarier, the better. It is a time of extreme colors that shock you. Therefore you can take out all your extreme colored clothes and make yourself an outfit to remember.

At this time, your outfit is meant to wear you, not the other way around. The emphasis is on the outfit. After Halloween, you can go back to your normal self and wear the colors that enhance your own colors and give you an edge in conversations and make your eyes shine. That is your goal all the rest of the year, but not right now. 

Any shadeof white will also be just perfect for you, if you prefer to dress up as a ghost. You won´t need to split hairs now when choosing your white. Any old white will do, and you can use black and blood red with it. The deep, dark red is best for this occasion. This is a time, when we can go crazy with these colors. That is because it is a masquerade party and not real in any way.

You might say that real life is also a masquerade party, and of course you are right. In real life, however, we need to make the best of our own colors so that we don´t look too harsh, scary, unapproachable and so on. There is a time and a place for everything. Now is Halloween time!

People seem to like orange a lot. It is a color that only very few people can wear to make the best impact with. I just read that e.g. the Royals stay away from orange and when trying to find a picture, where a Royal person was wearing orange, I could not find one. Prince Harry, for example, would look great in a clear, light orangy color since his dominant color characteristic is warm. It would be best if he wore it as a small detail combined with something else. There are two kinds of WARM, when we examine the color categories further. There is a difference in the oranges, like with every other color. A warm, deep and soft, plus a warm, light and clear. He would look best in the latter warm, especially if he combined the color with a clear navy or some other light, clear color. The typical orange would not be the color he would choose and even though he certainly knows his colors, he too, has not been seen in oranges, as far as I can remember. That is good because he really does not need it in the same way as those people, who need their colors warm, soft and deep.

Colors have more of an impact on our lives than we can imagine. Colors set the scene. Colors make us feel at ease. Just think of open spaces with blues, like the sea or the sky, or forests with different colors of green. It feels like it is easier to breathe.

At Halloween time, it is all about darkness and scary things, with the full moon shining from a blackish blue sky on a pumpkin patch (if you happen to be in the country side!). In cities, it is very easy to jump into the spooky world, since the background is already black and full of shadows. Throw in some orange, white sheets and blood red as a contrast to all that darkness and you will have the right atmosphere for Halloween. 

Colors are vibrations. Just think of the eerie sounds and howls we could be hearing at Halloween! If we heard those sounds in day light, there would be no effect whatsoever! Deep, dark colors together with strange, wailing sounds give us shivers. That´s how powerful colors are!

Once Halloween is over, take a closer look at how you can use colors to your benefit in every way. When you know which colors to choose for yourself to make the best of what you have been given by Mother Nature, you will save money, look terrific and feel like million dollars. This applies, even if you are wearing an outfit, which you bought at the flea market!
