Don´t Let Colors Drown You

Which red is your best red?

It has been over 30 years, since I first started out on my color journey. Where did all that time go? After being very active for the first 10 years, I actually thought that there is no more that I can do in this field of work.

I couldn´t have been more wrong. Along the years, I have noticed that nature is still there with all the colors in the right place every season. Also animals have not changed color.

People, however, seem to be using more and more striking colors in clothes, their living spaces and in everything, although the coloring of people has not changed. It is what it is and everyone has the best possible colors. So, what is going on?

Could it be that we see more bright colors on-line and there is so much entertainment all around us that we feel, that we need to stand out more by using stronger colors? If that is the case, then we are not realizing that the use of colors that are not in harmony with our own colors, makes us disappear.  We use stronger and stronger colors and as a result, only the colors are seen. With that in mind, so many of us feel that we are not being taken seriously, nor are we happy, since we are not getting the attention from other people, that we deserve.  It is as if we are disguising ourselves in colors to fit in. But, fit into what? Do we really want to be something we are not? At the moment, it looks like so many people are doing exactly the opposite of what they should be doing with colors.

It is the same thing, if trees had blue leaves in the autumn or rabbits were green! Yes, this sounds very strange but at the same time, light colored people are wearing black and red heads are wearing shocking pink and no one gives it a second thought. I´m wondering whether the use of colors have a greater effect on us than we realize.  After all, nature has proven itself by looking beautiful all around the world, all year around. People don´t seem to be doing the same, and seem to be lost, even when shopping for something for themselves. There must be a reason for all this.

To show you what I mean, I made a short video about how to use the color red in the best possible way for you. It does not matter, if you like or don´t like red. I picked red because Christmas is just around the corner and I´m sure everyone wants to look their best at Christmas time! The point is, that everyone can wear a red and look beautiful. Everyone can wear any color when the shade and intensity is the same as the shade and intensity of the person carrying that color.

No one needs to wear all reds. No, of course not. No one should wear all reds because all reds will not look the same on one person. It all comes down to the dominant color characteristics of each individual. On this little video, I will demonstrate how a light red looks on a light person and will go through all the dominant color characteristics and how they relate to the similarly colored person.
If you happen to discover after watching the video that your reds are not the best ones for you, don´t worry. You can still wear them successfully at Christmas time, because it is the time of color anyway. There is a way that you can start getting your wardrobe in order and to be the very best one for you by learning the few secrets on how to combine colors with your own colors. You have the rest of your life to do this, so there is no hurry in changing everything overnight!
